Today we welcome Jose Cardenas to our ranks of contributors. Jose is currently an Associate with the consulting firm VisionAmericas. From 2004-2009, he served in various senior positions in the Bush administration working on inter-American relations, including in the Department of State, the National Security Council, and the U.S. Agency for International Development, where he served as Acting Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean and oversaw nearly $1 billion in U.S. development assistance to the region. He also served as a Senior Advisor at the Organization of American States and as a senior professional staff member on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I had the privilege of working with Jose at the NSC, and we are very excited to have him on board, particularly with the expertise he brings on such a strategic region.

Democracy & Zaleya

Your article on Honduras Chavizist Zaleya was right on the mark.

Obama; Clinton and foreign policy completely did the wrong thing to support this dispot. Rule of law; Constitutional order has been sacrificed because the US Foreign policy is leaning toward socialism faster than a rabbit can run.

Americans should have a day of shame because of this absolute abandonment of a loyal friend Honduras.

Chavez will, the moment Zaleya is reinstalled, subvert the Congress; Supreme Court and constitutional law of Honduras by sending his people into the country to help support the "revolution" Zaleya has said he wants. Anyone who asks his people to become a revolution does not have the interest of the country as first priority.

As and American, I am ashamed of the Obama Administration and what they have done to the Honduras people. Please forgive them and stay our friend.
